This week in math we learned about sorting. We learned to sort by color and shape. Monday we sorted independently at our table.
Later in the week we worked in groups and sorted by color and then by shape.
The students continue to learn the expectations and procedures for literacy stations, and are doing a great job!
One skill everyone loves learning is about shapes! We sang Shape-A-Loo with our friend Dr. Jean to help us learn shape names.
The focus story this week was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. Science was a great time for us to use our 5 senses and talk about a real coconut. The students passed it around the circle.
Then listened to it. When we shook the coconut, it sounded like there was some liquid inside.
Later in the week we used a hammer to crack open the coconut! It didn’t want to open and Mrs. Abraham had to hit it a BUNCH of times! The coconut cracked…
and we put all the liquid in a cup. The coconut milk does not look like milk we drink. The inside of the coconutThe students were then given some grated coconut to taste.
