Silly Sock Day!

The children were a bit restless and a brain break was necessary! The Parade of Colors song was the perfect way to refocus.

Today we listened to The Spooky Wheels on the Bus book and CD for the first time, but the students requested it multiple times each day after that!

Wednesday, October 27

This week we read some great books! One of our favorites was this:After reading the book, the students made their own witch.

You think it's easy to get 15 sleepy 5 and 6 year olds to look at the camera and smile-- wrong!

Friday, October 29

Here the students are listening as Mrs. Abraham makes witches brew.

Mrs. Abraham tossed in some:

Cat eyes

Bat wings

witches fingernails

cat wiskers

ghose eyes

bat fangs

dried bugs

and.... candy corn

Then we carved a pumpkin.

The students all helped clean out the goop in the pumpkin. Their faces were priceless!

Some didn't like the way it squished in between their fingers......

Some didn't like the way it smelled!

Buffy Coleman, a former Harlem Globetrotter, came to our school to talk to the students about making good choices and saying NO to drugs!
