The students continue to learn the expectations and procedures for literacy stations, and are doing a great job!2011-2012 Kindergarten8

One skill everyone loves learning is about shapes! We sang Shape-A-Loo with our friend Dr. Jean to help us learn shape names. 2011-2012 Kindergarten9

The focus story this week was Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. DSC03036Science was a great time for us to use our 5 senses and talk about a real coconut. The students passed it around the circle.DSC02933

DSC02934Then listened to it.  When we shook the coconut, it sounded like there was some liquid inside.DSC02936DSC02935

Later in the week we used a hammer to crack open the coconut! It didn’t want to open and Mrs. Abraham had to hit it a BUNCH of times!DSC02975The coconut cracked…

DSC02976and we put all the liquid in a cup.  The coconut milk does not look like milk we drink. DSC02977DSC02989The inside of the coconutDSC02988DSC02979DSC02980The students were then given some grated coconut to taste.DSC02982DSC02984DSC02985DSC02986
